The Full Moon gets fuller at Autumn sets in
Published 1st Nov 2002 by Jess Neame

The Full Moon on Boyces Street really comes into its own at this time of year. This cosy little pub is there to remind us that life doesn’t stop as the nights draw in and the days get colder. You can still party in sub zero temperatures…

Food at The Full Moon

Now that the Summer is almost over the Full Moon management are re-opening their doors at lunch times. They intend to ‘…provide an oasis of decent food amongst the sea of boil-in-the-bag bistros.’ They have extended the menu, employed new chefs and generally given the whole Full Moon dining experience a major overhaul. They will be providing a fast, yet freshly prepared, service of great, affordable, organic food with a minimum of 50% of the menu being vegetarian.

This new lunchtime service launches on 1st October and is accompanied by some great drinks promotions. Weekend food will also still be available including what is still considered the best Sunday roast in the city.

Events at The Full Moon

Mondays : The infamously popular Full Moon pub quiz continues…only now it’s even more dangerous than ever! New sponsors Souza Tequila mean that not only do the winners receive a bottle of Mexico’s finest but all contestants will be able to sample a variety of special offer Tequila concoctions….come along if you dare.

Basic formula: Tequila + pub quiz + landlord’s insults = a great way to spend a Monday evening (apparently!).

Wednesdays: Howling at The Moon
The Full Moon welcomes the return of ‘Howling at the moon’ – a spectacular, fortnightly open mike/poetry/comedy night which continues to define The Full Moon as one of Brighton’s less sane venues.

Thursdays: Anthony Hayes invites the general public to bring your records to the pub. If he likes them he plays them and you get rewarded with a shot – if he doesn’t he’ll probably just insult you in front of your mates…

Sundays: The Sunday Roast
The boys from Essential CD come along from 7pm to play you the best tunes to accompany the best Sunday roast in town.

Drinks promotions:
House Doubles - £3
Cocktails from £3.50
Amstel - £2 a pint
House bottles - £1.50
