Published 30th Mar 2008 by Chris King
As seen on Channel 4, as heard on BBC Radio 4, as featured in The Guardian, Time Out, NME, The Times, The Pittsburgh City Paper (The US) & Grazia. Da Doo Ron Ron the "Legendary sixties girl pop extravaganza" the NME - are chuffed to bits to welcome guest superstar Dj Ian Parton the main man from Brighton's sampledelic heroes The Go! Team to the Da Doo decks on Friday 23 May downstairs at the Komedia. This extra special event is part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.
In keeping with the Da Doo femme-centric remit, The Go! Teams head honch will be spinning a special, never-to-be-repeated, utterly one-off set of 60s femme pop, soul & funk. The first 50 in on the night will receive a FREE 28-track Da Doo CD (Volume 5) compiled by Ian & regular Da Doo DJs Chris 'Da Doo' King & Simon Bridger (Brighton northern osul all-dayers).
£7 / £8 on the door on the night
Advance tickets are available NOW via the Komedia Box office (Tel:-01273-647100) or on-line via their web-site.
Established in October 1998 (in North London), Da Doo Ron Ron is a 60s orientated club night with a unique slant. In a tribute to original 'girl power', DDRR DJs Chris 'Da Doo' King & Simon Bridger only spin female-fronted tracks from the swingin' 60s and occasionally the 50s and early pre-disco 70s. You will NEVER EVER hear a MALE LEAD vocal at DDRR!
