The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark At Komedia
Published 27th Oct 2006 by Chris Challis
The Pied Piper Theatre Company bring the classic children’s story THE OWL WHO WAS AFRAID OF THE DARK, adapted by Tina Williams, to Komedia this Autumn.
Danny is camping with his Dad and his older sister, but his fun is spoilt by his fears of the dark. Dad has a favourite book with him, The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark.
Together, they role-play the story of Plop the baby owl, using their camping equipment for props and costumes. Through looking at the barn owl’s fears, Danny conquers his own fears of the dark and can enjoy his weekend under canvas and a starry night sky.
Tina Williams, the Artistic Director of the Pied Piper Theatre Company, trained at Arts Educational and started her career as an actress before turning to writing and directing. Tina has written over twenty plays with live music for children and young people. The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark is her second recent adaptation for the age range 3 - 7, the first being the highly successful national tour of Laura’s Star.
THE OWL WHO WAS AFRAID OF THE DARK visits Komedia on Sunday 5 November at 11am and 2pm. Tickets are £6/£5 conc.
