The Slackers Convention At Brighton Barfly

We've hosted events all over and on the 29th March we add another notch to our couch with a visit to the new Brighton Barfly. We are always up for keeping things interesting and as a primarily live music venue it complements the Slackers ethos of always having a live element to our events.

The Slack crew are looking forward to a bit of experimenting with a smaller venue and for our opening night we mix local legends Cakeboy and Doublethink with 6 peice band Jaberwok, Slackers Residents and Brightons finest local talent. Full listing details can be found below.

All the above co-exists with Slackers building on our established main residency at the larger Concorde 2 which itself is going through some good changes. April's C2 event sees us back to the usual 3rd Saturday of the month and has surprises galore. The main one being our live headliners who have not been heard round these parts for a good while but reside on many a decent music collection. After years of succesful solo projects they've recently reformed and are back with a vengance with new material as well as the classics and we play host the Brighton
leg of their European tour. Thats all we can say for now though as we dont want to overshadow the March event. Those who know us may have ideas... stay tuned.

Brightons own CAKEBOY & DOUBLETHINK top the lineup. Their live sets are never the same twice, tweeked & manipulated on the fly and full of suprises. With visual wizardry from VJ DOUBLETHINK, live camera feeds and Coldcut's pioneering VJAMM software, the live show has grown into a cleverly synchronised multi-media experience. Their combined energy, enthusiasm & passion for involving the crowd never fails to take the roof off - Genius!

Jaberwok are a 6 peice full-on live/electronic dirty deep funk band
of epic proportions.

WARMUP at Riki Tik on Bond St. Our established weekly NSB Radio show goesmobile. Residents Squashqar, Pav, Toxic Shock and guests playingall sorts 6pm-10.30 then round the corner to Barfly.
