The Treason Show @ Komedia
Published 25th Jul 2007 by Chris Challis
Welcome to a brand new season of Treason and if you’re in the media… beware! The Treason Show team have spent the last three months watching your every move! Comedy without compromise and top notch political and social satire from the team who mock sleaze with the greatest of ease – finally a political ‘party’ you can trust to deliver gags and a few home truths!
Founded in 2000, The Treason Show is a slick and irreverent satirical sketch show based on the news and current affairs. Founded by local lad made bad Mark Brailsford, The Treason Show plays to packed houses up to five nights a month, skewering targets from the Royal Family to ex-President Blair via the lack of decent toilets on British trains. (Oh yes …and Lewes district Council!)
”Savagely funny, fantastically silly” – The Guardian
Written by a team of over 40 writers and performed by a team of multi-talented satirical sketch performers (BAFTA Nominated Artists 2004) The Treason Show continues to wow it's audiences with a fast moving gag-a-minute sketch show. In the past, The Guardian nominated The Treason Show for it's alternative Perrier shortlist at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and over the last seven years the show has become a true Brighton institution.
The Treason Show are at Komedia from Thursday 9 – Saturday 11 August at 8.45pm. Tickets are £10 (Thurs) or £12.50/£10.50 conc.
