Time Running Out To Nominate Your Eco Heroes

Time Running Out To Nominate Your Eco Heroes
Published 28th May 2010 by Sarah Lewis-Hammond

There are only four weeks left to have your say in the Sussex Eco Awards.

Nominations close on June 24, after which the judges will being scrutinising the green individuals, businesses and organisations to decide who should be crowned winner.

With the nomination of England's first Green MP, Sussex is leading the country in the move towards a greener world. According to Forum for the Future Sustainable Cities Index, Brighton and Hove has placed in the top three for the past three years and in West Sussex alone 74% of schools are registered eco-schools.

Award-winning environmental journalist Sarah Lewis-Hammond is organising the event. She says “We've had over 300 nominations, more than double the entries of the previous event in 2008, but I know there are so many more people and organisations out there deserving of consideration. Four weeks might seem like a long time but it will fly by, so people need to get nominating as soon as possible.”

The awards will be held on September 16 at The Old Market, hosted by celebrity designer Oliver Heath with entertainment from The Maydays.

The Sussex Eco Awards is held in association with The Argus and sponsored by Legal & General, EcoCentric, 10:10, Southern Water, Brighton and Hove City Council, Clarity Environmental and The Positive Coach.
