Traders Wanted For Lift Moltenfestival This Bank Holiday Weekend

Traders Wanted For Lift Moltenfestival This Bank Holiday Weekend
Published 26th Aug 2009 by Molten Festival - Sara Doctors

I run the LIFT Molten Festival in Barking, East London. We’d like to offer free stalls and pitches at our “Global Village Fete” this Bank Holiday Weekento any traders and performers who were meant to be at Beachdown this weekendd.

The full programme and more info can be found at www.liftmoltenfestival.com

Molten Festival started as a small community event to bring together a divided community (you may be aware of the political situation here…) and has grown into a major regional arts festival. This year we’re collaborated with LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) and taken over a scheduled ancient monument in the centre of Barking to offer 11 days of outlandish spectacle, theatre, international music and this weekend the “Global Village Fete”.

Please help us spread the word to all traders and performers who want to work this weekend – we’d love to have them, the more the merrier! We’re billing the event like this:

GLOBAL VILLAGE FETE

1pm – 8pm

Abbey Green, Barking

FREE

Bring your sunscreen, a brolly, and all your friends and family for a long weekend of fun and laughter. For the whole Bank Holiday weekend Abbey Green will be transformed into a traditional fête – with a twist. You’ll find cricket on the green, cream teas, delightful craft stalls and delicious food stalls from around world, quirky street theatre, international musicians and loads of messy fun for kids. Visit an African village, an international market, and rural Britain, all here in Barking. Whether you’re a culture-vulture, a globe-trotter, a quick-stepper or sun-bather, there’s something for everyone – from barn-dancing to hula-hooping to fun and games for all. Come and play all day!

On the Lift Main Satge we have:

Sat 29: Urban Development, featuring Kele Le Roc, Young Nate, Hannah-Rose, Tinie Tempah, Crazy Cousinz and Janet Kay

Sun 30: Global Local, featuring Peyoti for President, Matzos, Dhol Academy, The Long Notes and Shafeek Ibrahim

Mon 31: Classy-oke, a massive sing-a-long with a Big Band and firework finale!

Please do pass on my email and mobile number to anyone wanting to get involved. I can be reached on 07929 046225 or 07916 128841 or ar sara.doctors@lbbd.gov.uk/
