Tv Stars, High Profile Speakers, Innovative Start Ups & High Street Giants Sign Up For Babyexpo Brighton
Published 6th Oct 2011 by Jo Reeder
BabyExpo Brighton is set to make a welcome return to the south coast city on Sunday 13th November, this year taking up residence in the new state-of-the-art American Express Community Stadium. Now in its fourth year, BabyExpo is under new ownership and is part of the award-winning What’s on 4 family of international children’s activity websites, which welcome over a million visitors a year. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a record number of 200 companies already signed up to take part in the leading baby show and family fun day for the South. BabyExpo Brighton is also the perfect opportunity for visitors to enjoy some pre-Christmas shopping, with big name brands and innovative start-ups all under one roof.
The event will be opened by Cbeebies special guest, Phil Gallagher of Mister Maker fame, who will be performing live, touring the show and meeting some very lucky prize-winners. The UK’s number one baby-sleep expert, Jo Tantum, will be sharing her top tips on baby care, from those first few hours to toddlerhood. She will also be giving away her fabulous ‘Go Anywhere Blackout Blind’ and ‘SleepyTime’ products. And Dads won’t want to miss Dean Beaumont, the UK’s only fully qualified male antenatal teacher and founder of DaddyNatal. Previously featured on The One Show and the Daily Mail, Dean will be sharing his insider secrets with visiting Dads.
Big brands supporting the event include Mothercare, Gymboree, Early Learning Centre, Philips AVENT, Ella’s Kitchen, Bandai, the Foster Care Agency, Tomy and MAM; new to the show this year is Innovation Alley, a dedicated area showcasing the very latest products and services on the market. Suzanne Borrell, who founded the show in 2007 and is now a What’s On 4 director explains, ‘We know that visitors flood to BabyExpo from over 25 counties because of the range of high-quality exhibitors and products on offer. We came up with the idea for Innovation Alley in order to showcase all the new, innovative businesses that are starting up,’ she adds. ‘The new zone has already sold out, and now has a waiting list. This is incredibly encouraging, especially in the current economic climate, when all we hear is doom and gloom about the retail sector.’
Visitors to the show can enjoy demo classes, the parents pit stop with Mayo Wynne Baxter, mums-only pamper zone, face painters, Heuristic Play with Early Year’s Childcare, Artful Splodgers Messy Play, play zones with Noddy, Ben 10 and WOW toys, plus the Mobile Ark Petting Zoo. You can also meet midwives, experts from the NCT, Doulas, enjoy mini-seminars about everything from conception to colic, experience 4D scanning, Yummy Mummy Maternity fashion shows, baby massage, food and drink, baby first aid, and much more. Mums keen to explore flexible working opportunities won’t want to miss the mumandworking Flexible Working Zone, and Juno magazine will be hosting the Natural Parenting Zone – full of eco-friendly companies, advice and information.
Ticket prices start at £2.50, which supports the participation of BabyExpo’s official charities, Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice and the NCT. Buy your tickets online now and you could win a fantastic selection of prizes worth over £1,000, including a new pregnancy wardrobe worth £250 courtesy of Yummy Mummy Maternity, a 4D scan from Babybond, Philips AVENT hamper, George White family photography sessions, Fisher Price goodies and the chance to meet Phil Gallagher from Mister Maker. Listen out on media partner Heart 97-104 in the run up to the show to be in with a chance to win a top-of-the-range Mothercare Spin Travel System. Philips AVENT is also offering goodie bags to the first 1,000 people through the door.
So make a date with BabyExpo Brighton, the only baby event that offers fun for all the family, shopping opportunities galore, and the chance to discover up-and-coming businesses that are shaping the future of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
