Vote For Trade Justice!
Published 7th Sep 2004 by Brighton And Hove Trade Justice Movement
BALLOT ON THE BEACH - Sunday 26th September 2004 - Madeira Drive
Join thousands of people on the beach in Brighton for the opening day of the Labour Party conference to demand the Government ends global poverty and protects our planet
Unjust trade rules, backed by rich country governments, keep millions of people in poverty around the world and harm our environment. The UK Government says warm words about making world trade justice fair, but its policies still harm both people and planet.
BE THERE .... BE PART OF THE SOLUTION
The day's events will start at 1pm and include:
Rally on Madeira Drive, Brighton, with international speakers and celebrities.
Carnival march to the Labour Party's Conference Centre. Bring your pots and pans, whistles and drums to ensure our message is heard far and wide!
Ballot on the Beach: cast your votes in favour of trade justice.
Early evening events. Come to 'The Arts of Resistance - Globalisation and Trade'. WDM will bring together poets, performers, speakers and musicians to reflect on the theme of the day. Time: 4:30pm. Venue: The Beach, 171-181 Kings Road, Brighton.
