We Are Klang
Published 19th Oct 2009 by Komedia
Direct from their hit BBC3 show, if.comedy and Barry Award nominees We Are Klang are back at Komedia for one night only as they warm-up for their first live DVD. Don't miss your chance to see Greg Davies, Marek Larwood and Steve Hall bring the best of their four anarchically brilliant shows together.
"This is stupid comedy done with great intelligence...Buy, borrow or steal to see this uproarious sketch trio in the funniest show on the fringe" * * * * *
- The Times
Having recently starred in their own eagerly anticipated sitcom series for BBC Three ("an inventive new sitcom somewhere between The Young Ones and The League Of Gentlemen"), the anarchically brilliant We Are Klang made their Edinburgh debut in 2004; picking up the Spirit of the Fringe Award, their ‘sketch act with jokes’ was welcomed as a breath of fresh air to the genre of sketch comedy.
“Nowhere on the fringe will you hear a room ringing with such volume of uncontrollable, guttural laughter as when the Klang gang are in full flow - and they are always in full flow” * * * * *
- Steve Bennett, Chortle
Since then, We Are Klang have performed four critically acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh Festival shows and in 2006 were nominated for comedy’s top prize the if.comedy Award as well as Chortle’s Best Sketch Show Award, which they went on to win in 2007. In 2007 Klang wrote and performed their own radio show for BBC7, were nominated for a Barry Award at The Melbourne Comedy Festival, and returned to appear on the Paramount Comedy Channel’s Edinburgh & Beyond stand up series for their second consecutive year.
"Delicious touches all through the show... rude, anarchic and hilarious" * * * * *
- The Independent
Greg Davies has also appeared as a panelist on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Mock The Week, as well as appearing as head teacher Mr. Gilbert in E4’s smash-hit The Inbetweeners.
WE ARE KLANG visit Komedia Brighton on Sunday 25 October at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 available on-line at www.komedia.co.uk/brighton or from the Box Office on 0845 293 8480.
