Why Spend Your Holidays In Barcelona?
Published 27th Oct 2011 by Harriet Freeman
If you can't make up your mind where to spend your holidays, I’d recommend Barcelona. It is one of the best tourist destinations in Europe and a city where you will never get bored. There are loads of things to do in Barcelona!
Barcelona is famous for Gaudi's architecture. La Pedrera, Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia are the most popular attractions in Barcelona which you can't miss. Modernist buildings are present all over the city, as the greatest artists of that time lived in Barcelona and wanted to contribute to the beautification of the city. Furthermore, if you love sightseeing and culture, there are other fantastic attractions like the great variety of museums, the nice beaches and the magic mountain of Montjuic, where you will find the Spanish Village and the Olympic Site.
Do you love the sea? The Mediterranean sea is waiting for you in Barcelona so why not take a trip on a boat in the port of Barcelona? Boats set off from Moll de la Fusta, opposite the statue of Columbus, where the Rambla del Mar starts leading to the Maremagnum shopping center and the Imax. Also, don't hesitate to have a swim or to have lunch in one of the nice restaurants at the Mediterranean.
Football fans will be delighted to visit the Camp Nou. As you might already know, it is the stadium of FC Barcelona – one of the best football teams in Spain, along with Real Madrid. You can enjoy a tour in the museum of Camp Nou and get into the pitch, and even get married there! Next to the stadium, there is La Masia, the house where most of Barça players were trained and got the values they have now.
What is more, Barcelona is an ideal holiday destination for nighthawks. The party in Barcelona never stops. So, if you like going out and want to experience the best party in the country, you must travel and book your accommodation in Barcelona. There are several areas where you can enjoy the nightlife in Barcelona; such as El Born, Port Olimpic, Gràcia and Las Ramblas. There are loads of clubs and bars in the city which offer great music and drinks all week.
