Bela Emerson Cd Launch Party

Rarely have I seen a performer show all these ingredients of excellence on stage. There are many ways of using live looping- as a means of building symphonies of sound and to allow changing instruments during a piece are a just a couple of them. Bela hurls her sampled electric cello virtuosity between two processors in a manner that could shatter protons in a head-on collision. With shifting textures ranging from gentle and thoughtful, to a freewheeling engine of grinding physical energy, this was undoubtedly Bela Emerson on top form. Brighton is very lucky to have her. *****
