Love Belushi's.
We usually go down in the club below but it wasn't really our music that night, so we stayed up top. The DJ was actually quite good and we enjoyed ourselves!
The staff remembered what drinks I'd been ordering and the bouncers were polite and made no issues.
My only complaint is that when someone gets a little too drunk and starts acting inappropriately not a lot gets done about it.

Mod For It

far better than mod for it at the pavtav!

the tunes are awesome and it was good to actually hear requests played rather than pavtav where 5446 or anything maytals or early ska would be ignored all night.

every tune played would have been on my top list of requests. amazing nights and good to see skins and mods in attendance.

Every Friday

Every Friday without a doubt we either start off at Belushi's or end up there. Even when we've been there 4 weeks in a row, and we decide lets give Belushi's a night off and try giving another place a go, we somehow end up there. We just cant stay away! I think its the jager-bombs that do it for me, at such good prices and as many as you want, who could want more. plus the pool table is the extra bonus and obviously all the bar staff! As a student, i think its the best place to spend a friday night!

This place is a great place to go out, definately not on grab a granny night (Friday and Saturday) but still even then i enjoy going in. The bar staff are absoultly lovely and always remember what your drinking and will have a chat to you if they're not too busy. There are some great local bands who pass by belushis playing gigs which is thursday nights. The drinks are pricey on the weekends and dirt cheap the rest of the week, The door men are good guys we all just need to remember to show them some respect as well as the rest of the staff. It has a worn and torn decor which is dated and disgusting but you feel comfortable and have a great night, Highly recommend belushis to all in Brighton.

What can you say about Belushi's Bar/Junction? Not alot!! From the outside this dingy nightspot has all the asthetic qualities and the charm and sophistication of a Russian motorcar. A colleague and myself were on a night out in Brighton(8/9/07) and decided to visit this venue, only to be met at the door by two individuals, (whom we assume were bouncers) one of whom was essentially a shaved chimpanzee who had been strategically stuffed into a bomber jacket (resembling closely 10 pounds of manure in an eight pound bag, you get the picture...) and another gentleman of Arab descent, who in all fairness was reasonably well dressed, both of whom informed my collaegue and I, in monosyllabic words that we were not going to be allowed into the club, with no reason given, their attitude and manner was not indicative of a friendly and inviting nightspot. Unfortunatly for the Managment and Staff at Belushi's bar, I am the Marketing Manager for the coach hire company who owns the coach station in which Belushi's is situated, and in the course of a year we run thousands of party goers, stag and hen nights, birthday parties etc etc into Brighton of a friday and saturday night, and our drivers are required to suggest to our passengers which clubs to avoid and which to visit. Guess which club we will NOT be recommending to our Passengers, or to "Party Bus Ltd" or "Red 7" or Sussex University Students Union, or any of the other companies which use our services. I think a little lesson in customer services is required at this venue. (Such as it is)

I am sorry you had a bad experience with our door supervisors. Our Head door supervisor has had many compliments in the past and I am sure if he came off rude, there must have been a misunderstanding that we should be able to resolve. We have a great relationship with the Universities in Brighton, and we would hate to see this be tarnished. So please get in contact with us soon, and I am sure we can smooth things over. Belushi's is a fun place, with live bands to DJ's catering to both the student population and a mutual local community on weekends.

Sincerely

Andrew Kaiser

Didn't like this place, supposed to have had a make over, WHERE? Same dingy little hole, with carpet that sticks to your feet as you go in, rude doorman, bar staff who could not care less if they served you or not, NOT being the operative word. Its a joke this place, full of oldies, and also some pretty scary younger ones too, intimidating and brash thats the crowd, stuffy as no air con, and the only form of entertainment a dj the same one on both nights, who is just awful, nellie the elephant followed by yellow submarine I dont think so! Oh and the prices of the drinks are out of this world dont bother, when it was the junction it was fun, now its nothing like it, bring back phil leppard the manager and also how about richard reynolds and John (forgot his surname) both brilliant djs who knew exactly what to play to get the crowd going, sorry management you must try harder.

I love it, I admitt it is got loads of oldies in there but they just want to have a good time as well as us. I go there most weekends and really enjoy the music and the company everyone is so friendly and there's no trouble.

This place is the pitts, djs are crape, music is terrible and the place should be refurbed, bring back the likes of Johnny Mansell on the decks and Phil Leppard on the management team.
