Best Food In Brighton!!I just love The Preston Park Tavern!! The food is always great, fresh, varied and good value. The service however is where The PPT wins over such talked-up venues as the Ginger Pig. It's relaxed, cheerful and always welcoming. I've taken so many friends to The PPT who didn't know about it and now they all go there. Surely that is the best recommendation of all?? |

| We go to the PPT regularly and both the food and the service is always excellent. Great ingredients, fresh, well cooked. The only downside is too many other people go there too and we can't always get a table particularly Sunday afternoons! However, the staff always do their best to accommodate us - thank you! Just one suggestion - more chocolate desserts please! Maybe the owners might like to additionally take over the recently closed down Tin Drum at Fiveways as we could do with another such venue in the area! | |

| I travel from Guildford twice weekly to visit my elderly mother who lives nearby. I have been doing this for well over a year and on almost every trip, I eat in PPT. I have never had anything other than first class food and service and I consider it to be good value. I am gobsmacked to read some of the other reviews - if customers don't like children, why go to a family friendly business - and as for allowing your child to play in front of the bar area while waiters are carrying hot food around? How ridiculous - this establishemnt is for eating and drinking and not a children's playground. Like the management I like to see well-behaved children enjoying themselves and to see families eating out together. This place gets it right. Their staff are all extremely good - far better than one would expect in this sort of establishemnt. It has high quality food and service while maintaining a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. I consider it to have no equal in the area and will always recommend it at every opportunity. | |

| Our family of four had a wonderful meal last night. We knew about 'walk in' and wait until a table's ready. It was good to sit by the fireside and enjoy a drink prior to eating. The staff are friendly, the food fab, we didn't have to wait too long. The price was OK. We will return for more of the same. MW | |

| Thought we would try the new place. First impressions good - liked the general ambience and decor. Asked for specific choice because two of us did not eat certain foods, told this would be ok. Waited over an hour to be given our food. Two dinners were luke warm and the two specific still had the item that each of us loathed. They very politely took them back but the two of us had to wait another half hour for it to be cooked. To be fair, they did not charge us for these two dishes, but it really spoiled our evening. Unfortunately will not be going back. Shame!!!! | |

| I went in on a Monday lunch-time recently, with a group of friends. I was really impressed with the menu and the service. I had a vegetarian risotto which was delicious and very good value at about £7.00. Compares well with La Fourchette which is my favourite restaurant in Brighton. Saves me a journey into town as I live locally! There were 3 children in our group and they were welcomed and served quite quickly. Definitely would recommend this to foodies and to families. | |

Gingerman Spotted At The Preston Park Tavern!I agree with the last review-this place is great! If you want proof, I was in there a few nights ago and The Gingerman was in there, eating with his family. If this isn't a recommendation, what is? |

VariousI think this is a great pub and serves really excellent food; i disagree strongly with the two reviews; to put the record straightthe staff are very friendly the food is delicious wine list is extensive relaxed atmosphere of course there are chldren on saturday and sunday lunchtimes - the pub even provides crayons/pads for them, so could not be better in this respect - but surely you would expect this from a popular pub that promotes itself as being family friendly. try it for yourself - i'm sure you'll go back. |

| Really good restaurant - great to have somewhere decent on my doorstep. I eat at the PPT fairly regularly and have never had a bad meal to date. | |

| Went in on a Saturday lunchtime. More children than adults and the place was full. Very noisy with kids yelling and dashing around. If you want a quiet pint or a civilized meal without having to put up with other peoples 'delightful' children, go elsewhere. The pub along the road now has an excellent secluded restaurant area, and is half the price. Without the added bonus of other peoples annoying children. (BTW - children don't HAVE to be annoying: it's just the parents that let them.) | |
