An utter rip off. I agree with the other reviews. We spent £40 a head and still had to go out for Pizza afterwards. It was like some nibbles you get with drinks but at rediculous prices.

Just Disappointed

Unfortunately I agree with the last review. I've been twice and really did hope it would be a fantastic night out but the food is disappointing and just simply is way overpriced, especially for Brighton. Very disappointing was the pork with peach. At the prices they charge you would have thought that they could at least have used fresh peaches, but no, instead they used tinned peaches in syrup. Our bill for two came to just under 100 pounds. Too much for what was offered. If you like tapas try Casa Don Carlos. Authentic tapas and reasonably priced.

Way Overated

I went with high expectations and left very disappointed and told them too. Portions very small and expensive and some food that was meant to be hot came out cold, service was slow too despite the place being nearly empty. I loved Loch Fyne and this beautiful building and adore Tapas, this was the worst Tapas I have ever had. I hope it was just a bad night and I was very unlucky. Will not be going there again

I never write reviews but was chatting to the manager of Pintxo the other day- complimenting him- and he said write one if you like it...people only write on these things to complain. I eat here often, downstairs for quick bites and for special occasions i go upstairs.. I have always enjoyed myself- love the food, the service, the cocktails, the atmosphere. The staff are warm, informed and accommodating....Love the tapas way of eating, sharing plates and tastes...Excellent refreshingly different local , well done boys and girls.

I went to PINTXO people on NYEVe and had an amazing night - we ate downstairs and had so much food it astonished us. The girls downstairs were chatty and knowledgeable about the food and actually made the night what it was. We had spanish grapes at 11pm which the girls told us all about and after 12 we danced the night away. A truely great night.

I strongly disagree with all the positive statements about this place. I've just eaten there and was frankly shocked at the terrible service and awful food. We were asked to wait half an hour for a table to become free, after almost an hour had to point out that we had been waiting as we'd clearly been forgotten about. We were still very prepared to be forgiving, as the atmosphere seemed nice and the staff friendly we thought we could put our wait behind us. The menu also appeared exciting, but the tapas was ill conceived, bitter crunchy olive paste to compliment the subtle taste of scallops, a soggy tofu chickpea dish, octopus on horrifically salty potatoes served with cheap cold white rolls and dull rice all at eyewatering prices. Really a triumph of style over content. Don't beleive the hype - go to any one of Brightons nice resturants and leave this one for the London day trippers.

Without doubt it is THE place to dine in style in Brighton! I have been several times now and have never been disappointed... Upstairs is definitely the place to be, but reserve your table as it is often fully booked. The decor is chic and the lighting is really a highlight - there is a special feel that inspires you to dress up. The food is trendy - the presentation is really amazing - and the flavours totally original. Be adventurious, it is well worth it! I highly recommend the squid and the cod... Portions are small (but 5 dishes between 3 more than enough) but it is so good I gurantee you won't care. My only complaint is that the desserts are tiny and yet expensive. However, the great wine list, the fresh baked bread and the service make up for it. The team are friendly but not in your face and the service is slick and professionel. All in all, reserve a late table, arrive early and sip a cocktail (or 3!) at the upstairs bar...you will not be disappointed.

I disagre with the comments about poor service. The staff have always been very friendly (been there quite a few times). The food upstairs is fantastic, but expensive. Downstairs is a nice place to meet people for a drink, and the food is great as bar snacks, if a little expensive, but worth it. The tapas from the menu is better than the pinxtos.

A great addition to our city! Downstairs ok but upstairs is a real treat. Lighting and layout giving a really special feel - think opium den meets speakeasy. The bar was run with a real slickness and the two cocktails we had showed it to be streets ahead of local opposition and even challenging the Kemp Town 'Big Boys'! The staff were friendly and cool without being cold. And the food....great flavours and presentation but one caveat: Don't go here with the munchies unless you're credit card is way off the max! All in all a special treat!

Good food but poor service - disappointing. The waitress was inattentive and unfriendly to the point of rudeness (snapped at me for being too slow to enter my pin number in the card machine!!). A shame, as it could have been a great experience.
